There are 6 snippets of different basslines which I play for 2 rounds each. I made this video to show others my practice and hopefully to get practicing, or inspired to practice :) April 2025
The song challenge for this month was to learn and play a song that has 'time' in the title. And my request was for the bassline to be easy!

My journey of learning a song the wrong way. It's a tale of my hard work. I got there in the end... the end of 95%
I like looking back and seeing where I've come from because it is very easy to get discouraged!

How many ways can you play the verse of this song? I show 4 ways but did I use any of them at the end?
This video is the whole song after I learned how to play it in a different register. It almost sounds like the original!
This is part of the EBass Guitar walking bass challenge. I didn't quite make the song my own. Actually, in the end, I was looking on my fretboard for other places to play the blues.
1) What has been your biggest challenge in this module?
Playing the song right through and not getting lost in the sequence of 'notes'
2) Is there anything specific you would like your coach to give you feedback on?
I'm not sure that there is anytime to add as I know what I did wrong :)
3) What are you most proud of achieving in this module?
Finding different ways of plays the licks, or finding a different spot to walk to the B, listening to the song and finding my way back.

A bit of a struggle to keep those 8th notes going, but I think think that I did a good enough job! except for the bridge.--
That's what you get when you've only practice this song 2 times before making a video!

An understanding of the theory behind the song really does help remember the bassline. Of course, doing this video, and 'teaching' someone else also helps :) I go through the song to discover some things that are theoretical which helps with how the song is played.

In this video I explained what I've learned in terms of the importance of fingering. One finger per fret may be useful, but is limiting too!
Part of the process of learning is discovering ideas and methods that help ones playing.

Dorian is used a lot in music.
Major 6 and flat 7 are the ones you want to 'find'.
There are 3 basslines that I play in order to hear the sound. I've spent a week on hearing each mode.
